Ari’s media studiesAbout

About the learning model

Credits become connections.

Ari’s media studies teaches the names of major Korean film and television creators by treating each person, project, and explicit credit role as a visual relationship.

Prominence is not a rating.

One to five stars indicate introductory importance and renown for this curriculum. They do not judge artistic quality, and they never restrict access.

Included credits are intentionally selective.

The game focuses on directors, writers, and creators included in this curriculum. A project page is not a complete production credit roll.

Every shipped image has a rights record.

Most cards intentionally retain original placeholders. A real portrait or project image appears only after its identity, rights basis, attribution, crop, and responsive files are recorded in the media manifest.

Privacy & data

Your learning record stays yours.

You can browse every card without an account. Google sign-in is required before starting or resuming a learning session. The boundaries below explain private progress and the public leaderboard.

Google identity is private account data

Firebase Authentication stores the Google identifiers needed to sign you in. Ari’s media studies shows your Google name and email only in private account controls. It does not copy your Google photo or provider subject into Firestore, exports, or the public leaderboard.

Progress is local first, then private when synchronized

Pre-release guest progress stays in this browser as a migration source. After sign-in, its one-time merge and all new immutable review events, preferences, import receipts, and rebuildable progress summaries synchronize inside your private Firestore path. Review events are retained for the life of the account in this first release; there is no automatic compaction. A progress reset adds a tombstone so earlier events stop affecting mastery but remain in history and portable exports.

Leaderboard identity is automatic

Google sign-in creates a leaderboard identity automatically. Only a record format version, the editable public name, mastery-tier counts, weighted total, projection timestamp, and a random public entry ID are readable by everyone. Google identity, answers, and private progress never appear in public leaderboard records. Deleting the account removes its public profile and all-time entry.

Export, reset, sign-out, and deletion are different controls

A JSON export includes learning history, derived progress, and preferences, but no Google identity, Firebase token, or sync transport state. Account deletion requires a fresh Google confirmation, removes public and private cloud records in bounded batches, then deletes the Firebase Authentication user. On Profile, a separate off-by-default choice decides whether that account's saved cache is also removed from this device; guest progress remains separate.

Optional analytics is not learning storage

When a deployment configures supported Firebase Analytics, it may collect basic site, browser, and device usage. Ari’s media studies does not set an account user ID or send custom names, email, Google subject, public entry ID, avatar URL, answers, search text, or exact rank to Analytics. Authentication, progress, and leaderboard records are not copied there.
